Abstract

|
The fiberscope has been played a vital role in the diagnosis of the gastrointestinal diseases. Furthermore, the videoendoscope and endoscopic ultrasonography which are recently invented have contributed to improve the quality of the visual field of the endoscope and helped to identify the depth of the cancer infiltration.
On the other hand, the endoscope in the therapeutic aspects could treat the gastrointestinal bleeding, polyp, esophageal varix rupture and recurrent or remnant common bile duct stone without surgical intervention. The purposes of this article is to help the clinicians who perform the therapeutic endosscope which are commonly used in the gastrointestinal field and to focus to understanding of the techniques, and management of the complications.
